"NAWBO-OC has helped me realize my dream of owning a company that offers fun food choices without compromising health. By participating in NAWBO's mentoring program, educational courses, and monthly networking meetings, I now have the tools necessary to expand my business to the next level." —Gerrie Adams, Xengaru Fun Food LLC

1. ENERGIZERS: First time entrepreneurs with no prior business experience.

2. EVOLVERS: First time entrepreneurs with prior corporate business experience.

3. SHOW ME THE MONEY: Established entrepreneurs who have been in business for four or more years and want to take their successful businesses to the next level.

SUCCESS Teams
NAWBO-OC has extended our educational and developmental programs by offering SUCCESS Teams to complement our mentoring and business training curriculum. Unlike other programs of this type, we offer this to members without restriction on company earnings, at a fraction the price of other programs.

What is a SUCCESS Team?
A SUCCESS Team is a group of 6-10 business owners who meet regularly, to use their combined knowledge, experience, and energy to support each other’s business success. Each group is facilited by a trained and exerienced business coach and will meet twice per month, once in person and once via conference call.

SUCCESS Team meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of the month from 1 to 4pm for six months. There will also be "mid-month" conference calls. After joining a team, you will be expected to attend at least 10 out of the 12 meetings. You will also be required to participate in a general orientation meeting which will be offered before your first SUCCESS Team meeting.

Registration for the next round of SUCCESS Teams is underway. The deadline to register will be February 8, 2008. Orientation is Tuesday, February 19th from 1pm to 4pm, and the first team meeting is Tuesday, March 4th. If you’d like to learn more about NAWBO's success team program click here or visit the SUCCESS Team table at the next NAWBO dinner meeting. The support, accountability, and feedback you get in these peer advisory groups is an invaluable benefit to NAWBO members...as you network don’t forget to ask other members about their experiences!

Please note that there are only three opportunities per year to join a success team—January, May, and September (teams begin meeting the following month).

Business Planning (May 22, 2008 and 28th from 9-noon) with Rita Monte, PIC, Performance Improvement Consultants. The best way to predict the future is to create it! Planning is a process that determines the future of the organization. The process helps determine business opportunities and resources that are required to convert opportunity into success.

Business Owners and leaders today have found that developing a strategy and an implementation plan is far more effective than leaving the future to chance. Furthermore, developing a strategy, a vision, a mission, and a specific plan of action contributes to long-term, sustainable success.

The Business Planning process provides a format for developing specific strategies, converting those strategies into a business planning process, and establishing measurable and attainable goals. It is a process that involves not only determining where you want and need to go but also how you are going to get there.
