Marketing
Tips: Key Steps in Selling to the Federal Government or
to Corporations
Identify schedule competitors and the differences,
features, etc. of competing products and services.
Identify target agencies and make sales
calls. Develop relationships and determine what the customer
needs and wants.
Emphasize price if your company's products
are priced low. If your prices are higher, give the buyer
sufficient information to make a best value determination.
Some examples:
- Fast delivery
- Specific features, warranties
- Quality considerations
- Compatibility with existing products/services
- Trade-in considerations
NWBOC, a sister organization with NAWBO and
the Center for Women's Business Research, created the first
national certification program for women-owned enterprises.
NWBOC's program offers an alternative to the costly, time-consuming
and duplicative agency-by-agency and corporation-by-corporation
certification process. For more information on the NWBOC certification
contact Rachel Owens (714) 560-9022 or visit www.nwboc.org.
