What is Social Media and Why Should I Care? (two part workshop)
Instructors: Rebekah King & Vicki Tortorelli
January 14, 2009, 5-8pm and February 11, 2009, 5-8pm
Technology provides numerous ways for businesses to get noticed by potential customers and clients. In this 2 part workshop you'll learn how you can connect with more people by using the most effective tools and techniques for social media marketing online. In part one, you'll learn about the best tools out there (LinkedIn, MySpace, facebook, twitter etc) and the building blocks for creating a social media marketing plan that you can implement right away. In part two, you will work on refining your plan, creating a growth strategy, and what tools are available to you for maximizing your social media marketing efforts as you build an audience.

The NAWBO-OC 2009 Mentoring Program is now accepting applications from members. To apply, use this link and read carefully through the Mentoring Overview section. Our kick off/orientation meeting will be held on March 6th from 8:30 - 1:00 and is mandatory if you wish to be in the program. Mark your calendars now. The PR & Advertising Committee, headed by Hilary Kaye and Debbie Douglas, will hold its first meeting of 2009 on Wednesday, Jan. 21. If you are already involved with helping this committee, please join us. If you are interested in joining us, please do! Those with PR and/or advertising experience especially encouraged. We will meet at the HKA office in Tustin, at 150 Yorba St. Its 'bring-your-own lunch -- we will have water, coffee and tea for all who want.
