Lyn Cox, Managing Partner at Vaco Resources and NAWBO-OC member, was the local focal point of the OC Register Business Monday cover story, "Working Women Want Life Support," on Sept. 3. The article described how executive women often need "wives" to help them carry the load on the home front.

Nahid Casazza, principal of Aspyrre Professional Coaching and leader of NAWBO's Success Teams, was included in the article "Show Employees the Money" in the OC Register on Sept. 3. The article discussed methods of retaining good employees.

A Business Monday story in the OC Register on Aug. 13 profiled Decision Toolbox, a virtual company run by CEO Kim Shephard, a NAWBO-OC member. The full-page story told of the trend toward virtual employment and how Shepard has international reach as a job recruiter.

Jacquelyn Tran, President of Perfume Bay and NAWBO-OC member, has been in the news with her new blog, www.MakesNoScents.com, in which she tells the tale of her ongoing legal battle with eBay. Numerous online articles have appeared, plus OC Register and OC Business Journal features.

Diana Nguyen, MD, owner of Siena Medical Aesthetics and NAWBO-OC member, was on the cover of the September Fortune Small Business magazine. Dr. Diana won one of the initial NAWBO-OC Education Scholarships in 2006 and describes her success with continuing education in the article.

An article in the Aug. 30 OC Metro that included quotes from OC leaders on the topic of leadership included NAWBO-OC's Immediate Past President Camille Jayne. The founder and chair of Matters at Hand, Jayne summarizes leadership as "results through compassion."

Kristie Holt, MPH, CHES, principal of HER Consulting and NAWBO-OC Member, was interviewed for the article "Voices of Experience" in the American Medical Writers Association Journal. Kristie cited NAWBO as a useful resource for her business.

Kim Porrazzo, OC Metro Editor and corporate member of NAWBO-OC through Churm Media, was included in Jan Norman's new small business blog of the OC Register, www.ocregister.com/jan. Jan told of Kim's new social networking site for women business owners, www.MyWomanOwnedBusiness.com.

Renee Pepys Lowe, president and founder of CoCaLo and NAWBO-OC member, was featured in the Sept. 3 OC Business Journal in the Small Business Column by Jessica Lee. The article described the successful company's expansion into baby furniture.

Karen Gifford, of Gifford Management and Leadership Coaching and NAWBO-OC member, and Glenn Gray, CEO of Sunwest Bank and NAWBO-OC Corporate Member, were the focus on an Aug. 20 OC Register article, "Relationships Help Secure Loan." The article described how Gifford and Sunwest Bank worked together on a relationship-focused loan for a Gifford client.

Carol Barge, founder of MyLacy's and NAWBO-OC member, also was featured in Jessica Lee's column, in the Aug. 6 OC Business Journal. The article focused on Barge's launch of her niche product line of MyLacy's women's underwear.

Gerrie Adams of Xengaru Fun Foods and her product, Pizzettos, was one of the six foods featured on the August 2 QVC segment entitled, Delicious Discoveries. QVC still offers this special QVC designed case of Pizzettos for sale on their website, www.QVC.com.
